This notice explains how information submitted through this website is handled, in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry or submit a tribute we collect the name, location, email address and message you provide, together with the IP address the submission came from. Tribute photographs are stored only if you choose to attach one.
How it is used
Information is used only to respond to you, to moderate submissions before publication, and to administer the memorial. Your email address is never published. Published tributes show the name and location you supply.
Data controller and retention
To be completed: name of the data controller, the retention period, and the contact address for access, correction or deletion requests. This section must be finalised before tribute submissions are switched on.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising cookies. Embedded videos are loaded only after you press play, and they are served in privacy-enhanced mode so nothing is set until then. If analytics is enabled, it records anonymous usage statistics.
